Make 2019 the year of running. Join West Stride for our Stride Strong 5K/10K Training Program and push yourself to achieve new running goals. Stride Strong is a fun, flexible and motivating program that includes 10 weeks of coached training and workouts to prepare you for a spring 5K or 10K road race. The program begins with a run/walk & info session on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019.


Who is this for? Designed for BEGINNERS and EXPERIENCED runners - Stride Strong offers two tracks to help accommodate all levels of participants:
• New Strider (new to running or walking or getting back into running) and
• Seasoned Strider (currently running a few times a week/can complete 2-3 miles)

Program Details:
Each Saturday, Stride Strong will meet at 8:00am for a fun training session led by Coach Jonathan Bair. The variety of the workouts will allow you to optimally prepare for the race, reduce chance of injury and learn key elements of training for any running event. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity during these sessions to ask individual questions with your coach to get more specific feedback and info about training. Saturday training sessions will be held every week with exception of March 16th when we are off for the Shamrock ‘N Roll!

The rest of the week, you fit in the prescribed training on your own schedule. Coach JB will help you target specific race day goals and teach you training tactics, race preparation and injury prevention tips. The program targets two key races: the Shamrock 'N Roll 5K/10K Road Race on Sunday, March 16, 2019, and the Northside Atlanta Women’s 5K on April 13, 2019.

Location: West Stride Running Store will be the home base for the training program, but we will try some different running locations in the local area on a few select Saturday runs.


Restrictions: Due to safety and liability, the Stride Strong program is open to anyone over the age of 18. Under 18 will be allowed if parent is present with minor at all times during training. Strollers and pets are prohibited during training sessions.


Registration Fee: $99 for 10-week training program beginning February 2 (with kick off run on January 26th). Fee includes a Stride Strong training shirt (if registered by Jan. 26), training log book and perks that will be given throughout the program – including Feetures performance running socks and more. (While race registration is not included, we will offer a discounted rate to the Shamrock ‘N Roll and encourage you to join us at both the Shamrock and Atlanta Women’s 5K. We’ll also have designated Stride Strong tents at both races.)


Shoe Upgrade Option: For an additional $100 add-on, you can also purchase a Shoe Upgrade and fitted for any running shoe at West Stride valued up to $125. That’s a savings of up to $25 (and no added taxes!).
